- This is it. Please remember to vote tomorrow! Living in a battleground state, the outcome of the Presidential Election really could hinge on your vote.
- 3 early voting days left after today. Due to the storm and deliberate efforts by state Republicans to cut back on early voting, turnout in Cuyahoga County is 6,000 voters less than in 2008. (we had 9 fewer days to vote because of Ohio Sec. of State Husted).
Don't let efforts to suppress the vote work against you.
Please be sure to have your voice heard and VOTE! - Just about every method for evaluating the election based on state polls seems to hint at a very slight lead in the popular vote, as well as an Electoral College victory, for President Obama.
- Thousands of our friends, relatives and neighbors are still without power. If you or someone you know needs relief from the cold, the American Red Cross has teamed up with the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management and the City of Cleveland to open 4 shelter locations in the region. The American Red Cross will provide food, staff the shelters and provide cots for sleeping accommodations. I...f you have a cell phone you will be able to charge it. The shelters are open to all Cuyahoga County residents. Service animals are allowed and for your safety there will be 24-hour security on-site at all shelters. Advisory from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections:
(Cleveland) – Voters no longer have to worry about whether the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections will be open when they want to drop off their voted ballots for the November 6th Presid...ential Election. A special ballot box has been installed in the Board’s parking lot located at 2925 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland. “The new ballot box is completely secure and will be under 24 hour surveillance,” said Jane Platten, Director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. “We want voters to be able to return their ballots any time they choose,” said Platten.See More

Finally, targeted populations in Ohio will no longer be disproportionately impacted by the removal of critical early voting days leading up to the election. I am proud that the federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, have consistently reaffirmed the right of all Ohioans to equal access to the ballot box. Secretary Husted followed yesterday's ruling by issuing a directive reinstating early voting hours during the weekend and the Monday immediately before Election Day. We are now on our way to a fairer election process.
Here is the schedule for early voting on the final three days prior to the November 6th election:
Saturday, Nov. 3– 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 4 – 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 5 – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Representative Marcia L. Fudge shared a link.
Did you mail in an absentee ballot application for the November 6th Presidential Election? 7,000 voters in Cuyahoga County had errors on their absentee ballot applications and less than half have been corrected. #VoteReady and track your ballot.
http://bit.ly/RlBumH- When it comes to voting rights, uniformity is the new 'separate but equal'. It's a smokescreen, replacing justice with injustice.
For the sake of uniformity, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted is forbidding county boards of elections from contacting voters by email or phone about errors in their mail-in ballots. He indicated since not all voters provide an email or phone number, they can only be notified by mail. It's another roadblock to efficiency, common sense and most of all, doing what's best for all voters. Representative Marcia L. Fudge shared a link.

Once again, Ohio Secretary of State Husted has decided to frustrate and deny the voting rights of Ohio citizens. With this appeal, Secretary Husted...has demonstrated that he would rather cling to an oppressive state law than protect voters and their constitutional right to fair and equal access to the ballot box. Moreover, I am not impressed with the Secretary's statement that the appellate court ruling is 'an unprecedented intrusion by the federal courts into how states run elections.' It is the unwarranted and unprecedented attack on our citizens’ voting rights by Mr. Husted and members of the Ohio legislature that made the court’s review and ruling absolutely necessary.See More
In 2008, an estimated 93,000 Ohioans voted during the final three days before the election. Two respected studies have shown eliminating these hours would disproportionately impact targeted populations, particularly minorities," said Congresswoman Fudge. "It's outrageous that in 2012 and with just four weeks until the election, Ohio still lacks clear guidelines to implement the last 72 hours of early voting to which our citizens are entitled. Stop wasting time Mr. Husted, and do the right thing. Implement a schedule for the last weekend of voting to avoid further confusion for our voters.- ActivityNovemberPeople Who Like This21
