Everyday Economics

The Everyday Economics series from the Dallas Fed is an engaging and relevant resource designed to supplement instruction in the high school classroom. The series is currently under revision, but the first three redesigned publication are available, along with the original publications. The booklets can be accessed online, downloaded as a pdf or ordered online in classroom sets. All publications distributed by the Dallas Fed are free.

SMART Board Lessons

The Dallas Fed has created interactive whiteboard activities for use in the high school classroom. The new lessons are part of the popular Everyday Economics series and Building Wealth in the Classroom. Download the .zip files and accompanying PDF procedure documents below.

Building Wealth in the Classroom—a series of lesson plans designed to facilitate personal financial education in the high school classroom. The paper lessons have been adapted and modified for the interactive whiteboard.

Everyday Economics—a series of publications and interactive whiteboard lessons designed for high school students. Each one explains a fundamental economic concept.

The Federal Reserve and the Financial Crisis: Chairman Bernanke's College Lecture Seriesoff-site
Chairman Ben S. Bernanke delivered four lectures in March 2012 about the Federal Reserve and the financial crisis to an undergraduate class at George Washington University. Videos from each lecture, along with transcripts and the Chairman´s slides, are available online.

Evening at the Fed: Webcast for Educators
The recently passed Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act represents lawmakers' attempt to reform the financial regulatory structure in response to the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. In this presentation, Federal Reserve Research Officer Ken Robinson will trace the history of bank regulation in the U.S., how it has been shaped by financial turmoil and the possible consequences of the regulatory structures that have evolved.
