Employee Viewpoint Survey Results Archive

2010 Employee Viewpoint Survey

The 2010 Employee Viewpoint Survey was conducted by the Office of Personnel Management from March 2, 2010 through March 15, 2010. A random sample of 7,597 employees from the Department received the survey. The sample population of employees was representative of all sub-agencies within the Department. Of the 7,597 employees surveyed, 4,273 employees responded, resulting in a 56.2% response rate.

2009 Annual Employee Survey

The 2009 Annual Employee Survey was conducted by the Office of Personnel Management from September 14, 2009 through October 2, 2009. A random sample of 1,168 full-time permanent employees from the Department received the survey. The sample population of employees was representative of all sub-agencies within the Department. Of the 1,168 employees surveyed, 755 employees responded, resulting in a 65% response rate.

2008 Annual Employee Survey

The 2008 Annual Employee Survey was conducted by the Office of Personnel Management as part of the Federal Human Capital Survey (FHCS) from August 1 through September 26, 2008. A random sample of 7,099 employees from the Department received the survey. Of those 7,099 surveyed, 4,110 employees responded, resulting in a 57.9% response rate.

2007 Annual Employee Survey

An annual employee survey was conducted by the Office of Personnel Management as part of the Federal Human Capital Survey (FHCS) starting in 2002 and administered every other year since. The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2004 required Federal agencies to conduct the annual employee survey beginning in 2007 and every other year that the FHCS is not administered. The Department of Labor’s Annual Employee Survey was conducted nationally in the fall of 2007. A random sample selected from the Department’s 15, 518 employees resulted in 1,981 employees receiving the survey. Of those 1,981 surveyed, 1,345 employees responded.
