Have
you already opted into TSA Pre✓™ but rarely get selected for
expedited screening? Here are some possible reasons why as well as some tips:
- First off, to keep things random and unpredictable for anyone with bad intentions, there are times where you may not be selected for expedited screening.
- TSA Pre✓™ is currently only available for U.S. citizens traveling domestically on a participating airline, out of a participating airport. Click here for the most updated list.
- If you are a member of a CBP Trusted Traveler program, be sure you’re including your PASS ID – found in the top-left corner on the back of your membership card – in the ‘Known Traveler’ field every time you book a flight. If you’re not sure it’s in there, especially if you’re not booking it yourself, you can always call your airline to confirm that your number is on the reservation before you fly.
Bonus Tip: Did you know that kids 12 and under can travel with you through the TSA Pre✓™ lane? If you didn't, now you know! That info might come in handy this summer.

TSA Pre Check does nothing for the vast majority of travelers.
It is high time that TSA instituted reasonable screening procedures for all travelers. End the Strip Search Machines. End the TSA Sexual Assault Feel Downs. End the TSA BS that infests our airports.
No one should have to remove shoes. belts or jackets. Why just a lucky few??
I hope the PHX screeners are actually doing their jobs and aren't distracted by their phones!

Of course, Bob, it's TSA employee policy to not use one's phone when on duty, so I just can't see how any of this actually happened.

Why do we still have to remove our shoes? At almost every other airport around the world, shoe removal is not required. None of those planes have fallen from the sky, so obviously their security works. Plus, the shoe bomber's flight originated out of Paris and not the U.S., so why are we forced to remove shoes.
I'm also curious as to why the U.S. still uses backscatter x-ray scanners when they have been banned in Europe for health reasons. If Europe has banned them, I really question how safe they actually are. I know I wouldn't want to work around them on a daily basis.
Why is this not the default level of screening for ALL passengers, instead of a perk reserved for the wealthy elite?

And remember, the TSA does not profile! Just because the young and old are treated differently does not mean the TSA profiles! It means that the TSA...well, profiles, but even that profiling is not profiling!

I'm curious when TSORon, among others, thinks that flights from Europe will be stopped because Europe doesn't use the scanners. Ron and others predicted that it would be months ago.

Someone should tell TSORon that many flights from Europe don't insist on TSA's shoe carnival, either.
Someone should tell TSA that security personnel in Europe are polite and professional.
TSA could learn a lot from their overseas counterparts.
Flying is not a necessity, you CHOOSE to participate. If you don't like it, travel by car or boat. I have a NEXUS card and think the TSA program is great and the trusted traveller programs are very affordable. Obviously I would like to see it at every Airport but for now I'm just happy when I find one that does. Also, I must say that people don't or can't read. Most of the time wasted at check points is due to passenger stupidity, not the TSA screeners. The priority line for frequent travelers seems to end once you get to the lines for X-ray, if theses lines remained reserved for people who know how to travel life would be much easier for those who travel frequently. Quit griping about your rights and provide some constructive feedback. You have a right NOT to fly.
How about the whiners that are so afraid of their own shadow be the ones to choose not to fly and leave the rest of us with our Constitutional liberties?
You really think that TSA is keeping us safe? Safe from what? They will keep preaching they're protecting us from terrorist JUST so they won't get their budget trimmed. It's like someone who is getting welfare from the gov, they never want to lose that flow of money. Last I've herd, every time something has happened on a plane, it was the PASSENGERS on the plane that took care of the situation. NOT tsa… Just saying
