TRICARE Management Activity

A component of the Military Health System

Acquisition Process

TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) Acquisition Management and Support (AM&S) Directorate is responsible for all acquisition and contract-related activities to fulfill the Military Health System's (MHS's) mission to provide optimal health care services to its beneficiaries, including Active Duty military personnel, families of Active Duty personnel, reservists, and military retirees and their dependents, in support of our nation’s military mission.

AM&S manages and supports cradle-to-grave acquisition and contract processes: Planning, Solicitation, Evaluation, Award, and Post-Award. Acquisition planning begins as soon as a requiring organization identifies a need.

The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) represents the substantive body of laws governing the acquisition process within the Federal Government, and TMA follows the FAR. Click to view Acquisition Policy.

Further details regarding the AM&S acquisition process can be found in the Contract Management Process Guide.
