L4 BIDS/JBPDS

Welcome to Alpha Company, 84th Chemical Battalion and the L4 BIDS (Biological Integrated Detection System) Course, 4K-F9/494-ASIL4 (JBPDS). You are about to take part in a fast-paced, 13 days, program of instruction that will qualify you for the L4 additional skill identifier (ASI).

Course Prerequisites:

Attendance is not limited to Active duty personnel. The class could consist of both officer and enlisted personnel that currently hold 74A/74D MOS. All personnel attending the L4 BIDS Course must complete Distance Learning through the Army Learning Management System (ALMS). The link is located in the self service drop-down menu, under my education on the Army Knowledge Online (AKO) website. All personnel must have a valid state driver’s license, and DA form 348. If you have a military driver’s license, bring it also.

Billeting:

All TDY soldiers regardless of rank will report to Post Billeting (Bldg #470), Commercial (573) 596-0131, then listen for the automatic operator to come on, when asked for the last five digits of the number you’re dialing, dial 6-0999 for assignment to quarters. Post Billeting is located in the Soldier Service Center, Building 470 on West 4th ST/Replacement Ave. and Constitution Ave (Refer to enclosed map). Do not obtain Off-Post Lodging unless directed to do so by Post Billeting. If directed to obtain Off-Post housing, only Post Billeting will provide you with a Statement of Non-Availability for US Army soldiers. Prior to your attendance to school, it is highly recommended that all students have in their possession a government travel card. If you are unable to obtain a government travel card, it is highly encouraged to bring a personal credit card. A travel advance will be requested as a last resort. You are not authorized and will not be reimbursed for Off-Post Lodging when On-Post Lodging is available. If you encounter any problems with your billeting, contact the L4 NCOIC @ (573) 563-7660.

Uniform:

The duty uniform for the course is ACUs. Everyone will be issued the required TA-50 items need for the course from our CIF (Central Issue Facility). Company PT is conducted every Monday thru Friday at 0530-0630 hours. Bring all Improved Physical Fitness Uniforms (IPFU) with authorized hat and gloves.

Mail:

We suggest that you don’t have any mail sent here due to the short class time.

Dining:

Dining Facilities are available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals for all ranks.

Day 1:

All personnel must report to the MANSEN Building (Bldg. #3203), Thurman Hall, Classroom # 1118, 0630 hours, on the first day of class. Bring the following items with you for in-processing:

Identification Card, Copy of TDY orders and any amendments, DA Form 31 for leave (if applicable).

Certificates of Completion for the three modules of distance learning, Building and room number of your billeting, and phone extension, Hotel name, room and phone number (if applicable), Civilian driver’s license, Military driver’s license, DA Form 348, Safety DDC/AAC Card print out of course completion certificate, Prescription glasses if required, No contact lenses.
