Special Programs

TRICARE offers supplemental programs tailored specifically to beneficiary health concerns or conditions. Many of these programs have specific eligibility requirements based on beneficiary category, plan or status. Each special program is unique offering extended health coverage, financial assistance or benefits for specific health conditions. Many programs are limited to a certain number of participants or a certain geographic location.

For example:

• The Extended Care Health Option offers financial assistance for services and supplies to active duty family members with special needs.
• The Pre-activation Benefit for National Guard and Reserve provides "early eligibility" for TRICARE benefits to qualified Guard/Reserve members and their families.
• The Chiropractic Health Care Program provides Chiropractic Care to active duty service members at military treatment facilities.
• The Women, Infants and Children Overseas Program is only available in overseas locations.
