Michael D. RenfroMichael D. Renfro

Michael D. Renfro has been the general auditor of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis since July 10, 1989. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and received his MBA in Finance from St. Louis University in 1987. He is also a certified public accountant and chartered bank auditor.

Previously, Mr. Renfro worked for KPMG Peat Marwick and Citicorp in St. Louis, Missouri. He was also employed for six years as Director of Auditing for a two billion dollar multi-bank holding company in the St. Louis area.

Mr. Renfro is a past president of the St. Louis Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and is a current member of the Chapter's Board and Educational Foundation. Mr. Renfro is also currently a member of the Dean's Advisory Council at Southeast Missouri State University and served as president of the University's Alumni Association.

Mr. Renfro has made numerous presentations on such subjects as audit risk, operational auditing and internet security and has published several articles on the use of operational research models in the banking industry. Mr. Renfro has also served as an instructor overseas for a conference on central bank auditing sponsored by the International Monetary Fund for accountants and auditors from former Soviet-block countries.

Mr. Renfro lives in St. Louis with his wife, Anne, and has two children, Caroline and Thomas.
