The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act was signed into law by President Obama on July 21, 2010. This legislation is intended to better protect consumers in their financial transactions.
The new law’s impact on the financial industry and consumer protections is far-reaching and has generated questions and concerns from all affected parties. In order to help both consumer advocates and financial industry professionals better understand some of the changes ahead, this conference will provide an overview of the new law and address implications of Title X: The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection and Title XIV: The Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act. The program will culminate in a panel discussion focused on what consumers should expect as a result of this financial overhaul.
