The Richmond Fed pursues a broad research agenda. Our staff economists, visiting scholars, and past contributors have helped advance the Federal Reserve's theoretical and empirical understanding of economics, which helps the Fed formulate its monetary and banking policies. In addition, they have provided direct input to the Bank's president at policy briefings.
