Doing Business with TMA OSBP

The TMA OSBP engages in a wide variety of procurement activities – at both the Prime and Subcontractor levels – that may be of interest to small businesses.

The following list is a sample of what the TMA buys:

  • Managed Care Support
  • Dental Support
  • Information Management/Information Technology
  • Program Management Support
  • Administrative and Resource Management Support

Before determining which of these possibilities are the best course for your business, you should have a thorough understanding of what exactly the TMA is, the environment in which we exist, and the types of services and commodities we purchase. Following are additional sites that provide Small Business information beyond the opportunities that exist within the TMA:

U.S. Small Business Administration
The Small Business Administration (SBA) is the U.S. Government's "central office" for small business whose sole purpose is to assist and promote small business development, utilization and growth. Each Cabinet Department has its own “Small Business” office that further assists the Small Business Community implementing Government-wide SBA policy as an integral part of their acquisition activities. The SBA website is a great place to start to familiarize yourself with the U.S. Government’s Small Business Programs, including information about how to start a small business and where to find business opportunities.

The System for Award Management (SAM)
The System for Award Management (SAM) is a single website that consolidates the capabilities previously found in CCR/FedReg, ORCA, and EPLS. SAM provides basic business information from contractors that want to do business with the Federal Government. If you had an active record in CCR, you have an active record in SAM. You do not need to do anything in SAM at this time, unless a change in your business circumstances requires a change in SAM in order for you to be paid or to receive an award. If you are a new entity wanting to do business with the Federal Government you must Create an Account in SAM.

DoD Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization
This website contains information on DoD programs that benefit small businesses and DoD business opportunities.

Federal Business Opportunities
Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) is the single government point-of-entry (GPE) for Federal Government procurement opportunities over $25,000. Government buyers are able to publicize their business opportunities by posting information directly to FedBizOpps via the Internet. Through one portal - FedBizOpps (FBO) - commercial vendors seeking federal markets for their products and services can search, monitor and retrieve opportunities solicited by the entire Federal Government contracting community.
