The mission of the Training Division (TD) is to lead and inspire, through excellence in training and research, the education and development of the criminal justice community. TD manages the FBI Academy, one of the world's most respected law enforcement training centers. TD trains FBI Special Agents and Professional Staff as well as local, state, federal, and international law enforcement personnel.

FBI employee training programs include New Agents training, Intelligence Analyst training, and in-service and specialized training for Special Agent and Professional Staff personnel. Police training programs include the FBI National Academy, an eleven-week multidisciplinary program for seasoned law enforcement managers; the Executive Training program for Chief Executive Officers of our country's largest law enforcement organizations; and Operational Assistance, which trains law enforcement personnel how to respond in certain emergency situations. In addition to course offerings, FBI Academy faculty members conduct research and provide assistance to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies on many topics and investigative techniques.
