The National Dialogue on the QHSR is now closed.

Between July 16th and October 4, 2009, more than 20,000 stakeholders from all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia participated in the National Dialogue on the Quadrennial Homeland Security Review (QHSR). The valuable comments and ideas solicited were used directly to inform the study groups tasked with writing the QHSR for the Department of Homeland Security.

In February 2010, the Department of Homeland Security submitted the Quadriennial Homeland Security Review report to Congress. The report can be viewed at the Department of Homeland Security’s QHSR page.

In April 2010, the National Academy of Public Administration, who hosted the National Dialogue on the QHSR released its report which focuses on the lessons learned that can guide future collaborative online processes conducted by both the Department of Homeland Security and leaders throughout the field of public consultation. The Academy’s report can be found on the National Academy website.

Even though the National Dialogue has ended, the three dialogues in this series remain archived online in their entirety here:

Dialogue 1: An initial forum of participant ideas on the goals and objectives developed by DHS study groups across six topic areas.

Dialogue 2: A deeper discussion into how best to prioritize and achieve the proposed goals and objectives.

Dialogue 3: A review of the final products of each study group with participant feedback and identification of next steps.
