Health Care
Everyone depends on health care products and services to stay well and live, work and participate in our communities. But for many Americans with disabilities, access to adequate and affordable health care coverage and services are significant obstacles to independent living, employment and full inclusion in society.
Communities, health care providers and people with disabilities themselves must take an active role in health management, and ODEP believes it is also essential that employer-sponsored health care services and programs account for the needs and perspectives of employees with disabilities. Many people access a wide range of services and supports to meet their health needs, including both public and private insurance. Job seekers and employees with disabilities should be able to access these same services and supports as much as possible. Thus, ODEP actively works to integrate health care issues into its employment policy efforts.

- ePolicyWorks Health Care — Collaborative online workspace that allows national experts and key stakeholders to work together on strategies to effectively address employment, disability and health-care related issues. Membership is open to federal agency representatives and other policymakers from non-partisan, nonprofit organizations interested in the intersection between employment, disability and health care and increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
