DeCA introducing Commissary Rewards Card The Defense Commissary Agency is making progress in its rollout of the Commissary Rewards Card that will soon allow customers to access and redeem digital coupons at all of its stores. Testing began Aug. 8 at the Fort Lee Commissary, Va., eventually moving to 30 stores by the end of the month. DeCA then began a gradual rollout to its commissaries in September, with deployment scheduled to be completed by early fall. Cards can be used at all commissaries where the card has been deployed. As an introductory offer, customers who pick up their cards by Oct. 24 will receive preloaded digital coupons on their cards that they can use in the commissary immediately. For more information on this card, please visit www.commissaries.com/faq and click Commissary Rewards Card. Help is also available through the customer service hotline at 855-829-6219 or through email at commissarysupport@inmar.com.

Fall signals start to holiday savings at commissaries October represents the unofficial start of the holiday season for commissary customers who want to see store promotions, giveaways and more opportunities for discounts beyond their usual 30 percent or more savings, said the Defense Commissary Agencys director of sales. Whether it is celebrating Oktoberfest with friends or saluting friends and families from afar with a big, plump, roasted turkey, your commissary wants you to know we are here for you with extra savings and grand opportunities to enhance your commissary benefit, said Chris Burns, DeCA sales director. Throughout October, DeCAs industry partners vendors, suppliers and brokers are collaborating with commissaries to offer discounts beyond everyday savings. Overseas stores may have substitute events for certain promotional programs. Customers are asked to check their local commissary for details on dates and times. Go to: https://www.commissaries.com/press_room/press_release/2012/DeCA_61_12.cfm for a list of October promotions. For more information on promotional prices in their local commissary, customers can go to https://www.commissaries.com/log_in/html/savings_aisle.cfm.

Commissary gift cards are convenient way to give gift of groceries
As the holidays approach, a Commissary Gift Card can be an easy option for anyone to extend the gift of groceries to service members and their families, said the director of the Defense Commissary Agency.
Whether its mom and dad wanting to help out with a holiday dinner for their son or daughter stationed overseas or a military unit assisting a junior enlisted family struggling financially, the Commissary Gift Card is a quick way to extend the benefit during the holidays, said Joseph H. Jeu. You dont have to be an authorized shopper to give this gift. Gift cards come in denominations of $25 and $50. Anyone can purchase a card through the DeCA website, http://www.commissaries.com, or in a commissary. However, only authorized commissary customers can use it in a commissary.
