Today, the Army announced Spartan Brigade will convert from an Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) to an Armor Brigade Combat Team (ABCT). Conversion of the bri...gade will begin this summer. The conversion means that we will once again be equipped with Abrams tanks and Bradley fighting vehicles. This conversion improves the Army's ability to execute contigency plans in response to future potential adversaries.

The blood donor center is in need of donors with the blood type of ONEG & O POS, all blood types are welcome, however 0 NEG is the most in demand.

The donor center is located in Building 8-4156 Souter Place, across from the north post exchange. Hours of operation are 0730-1500. For more information please call 910-396-9925.

If you would like to schedule your unit or organization please contact us to schedule a time and date.

BASIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. You are at least 17 years old, feel well, and have a photo ID.

2. You weigh at least 110 pounds.

3. You had no Body Piercing(s) in the last 12 months.

4. You have not donated blood in the last 8 weeks for single unit or 16 weeks if double collection.

5. You are not pregnant or have not been pregnant in the last 6 weeks.

6. You have not had any dental work/surgery in the last 72 hours.

7. You have not had a cold or the flu in the last 72 hours.

8. You are not scheduled to jump in the next 72 hours.

9. You know when or where you have traveled outside the US or Canada.

10. You know what shots or have your shot record for any shots/vaccinations received within the last 8 weeks.

11. Know when and where you receive your last tattoo.
