       I had the honor to spend the day with the great group of Vietnam Veterans from the 3-16 FA. As apart of their reunion they were provided a tour of Fort Sill, to include a visit to the gun-line to observe Soldiers conducting a live-fire event and then finishing up the day at the Patriot Club for Oktoberfest.

  2. News: The Army just announced that Soldiers who experience the death of a spouse may request to be stabilized for not less than 24 months. The Army seeks to help Soldiers during extreme hardship and allow them time to address personal affairs. Once approved, Soldiers may terminate their request anytime during that period. See your S-1 for details.

  6. Sunday's parachute jump from space impressed us so much we thought we should remember one of Fort Sill's own who had the "Right Stuff" and held the record for parachute jumping - Sgt. Ensel Chambers. The clip is from the March 12, 1921 Twin Falls Daily News of Twin Falls, Idaho (Kevin-PAO).

  22. Command Sgt. Major Lindsey was formerly the brigade command sergeant major of 428th Field Artillery Brigade - and apparently lost his cap out in the field at Fort Sill. Since it's strapped onto the back of a missile pod and appears to be ready to be "torched", he probably didn't get it back.

  23. We observe October as Domestic Violence Prevention month, in part, by sharing inspirational and thoughtful messages on the banner of our Facebook page. Several of the messages, such as today's, were provided by the creative minds of Cache Public Schools (Kevin, PAO).
  24. In recognition of Gold Star Mothers' Day, Fort Sill will fly the garrison flag on Sept. 30, the last Sunday in September (weather permitting). The garrison flag is 20' x 38'.
