Youth at Iftar

Iftar for Bahraini Youth Community

On July 29, Public Affairs Officer Brad Niemann hosted an iftar in honor of visiting American speaker Chaplain Kamal Abu Shamsieh, Chairman of MuslimLink.  Around 70 youth alumni and contacts attended the iftar.  Following the iftar, Chaplain Abu Shamsieh engaged the guests in an interactive session to highlight the importance of respect, co-existence and tolerance in any society.

During his weeklong visit to Bahrain Chaplain Abu Shamsieh led prayers at Al Fateh Grand Mosque and attended several Ramadan majalis (gatherings) during which he met with Bahraini clerics, businessmen, media representatives and academics.  At all of these venues, Chaplain Abu Shamsieh spoke about the Muslim American experience in overcoming religious differences through reconciliation.

The program was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs.
