Iditarod National Historic Trail Map

The Iditarod National Historic Trail celebrates a 2,300-mile system of winter routes that first connected ancient Native villlages and later opened Alaska to the last great American gold rush.

Many athletic events are held along portions of the trail such as the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, Iron Dog, and Iditasport.
