EPA Voluntary Initiatives

In addition to ENERGY STAR, EPA offers several other voluntary programs in which you can participate. These additional resources help organizations reduce their environmental impact and greenhouse gas emissions.

Climate Leaders®

An industry-government partnership that works with companies to develop comprehensive climate change strategies and complete a corporate-wide inventory of their greenhouse gas emissions.

Green Power Partnership®

A program supporting the organizational procurement of green power by helping your organization lower the transaction costs of buying green power, reduce its carbon footprint, and communicate its leadership to key stakeholders.

WasteWise

A program through which organizations eliminate costly municipal solid waste, benefiting their bottom line and the environment.

WaterSense®

A partnership program that seeks to promote water efficiency and enhance the market for water-efficient products, programs, and practices.

Associations and Other Initiatives

National Restaurant Association (NRA) Exit ENERGY STAR

The NRA is the leading business association for the restaurant industry, whose mission is to represent, educate and promote a rapidly growing industry that currently employs 11 million people. The NRA/ ENERGY STAR Challenge encourages restaurateurs to reduce energy and water consumption.

Professional Retail Store Maintenance (PRSM) Exit ENERGY STAR

PRSM is a member organization promoting the awareness of retail facilities management and its impact on the success of retailers.

The Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Exit ENERGY STAR

FMI is a nonprofit association conducting programs in research, education, industry relations and public affairs on behalf of its 1,500 members including their subsidiaries – food retailers and wholesalers and their customers in the United States and around the world.

Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) Exit ENERGY STAR

RILA’s membership comprises over 200 retail and consumer products companies, representing $1.5 trillion in sales. RILA works to advance the retail industry by offering educational forums and through public policy advocacy.

National Retail Federation (NRF) Exit ENERGY STAR

NRF’s mission is to conduct programs and services in research, education, training, information technology, and government affairs to protect and advance the interests of the retail industry.

Edison Electric Institute National Accounts Program (EEI) Exit ENERGY STAR

EEI’s National Accounts program focuses on the unique and growing needs of those commercial customers with multiple sites or outlets, including “chains” and franchise operations.

Other Associations and Organizations Exit ENERGY STAR

Contains a searchable database of retail industry merchant groups, associations and organizations in a variety of areas useful to direct sales and Internet retailers.
