Answering the call of others ... so they may prevail

The Mobility Air Forces culture has developed and matured throughout the nearly 70 year history of the Air Force. During this time, our Airmen have done their duty, their calling working for the greater good of others.

While our airmen do not seek recognition for the selfless service they perform, it is important nevertheless for leaders at every level to share these stories, literally hundreds of stories, about the Airmen who answer the call in both profound and simple ways.

"Answering the call... so others may prevail" encompasses the unspoken ethos that makes up the core principle of what it means to be a Mobility Airman. With it, any of the nearly 135,000 active duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian members of Air Mobility Command can take that unspoken, internalized concept and relay the "why" for serving regardless of their specialty code or job description.

This page is a toolkit to help leaders explain the command's "why" and to guide their Airmen as they identify their own "why." Our command is by mission, a supporting force. What we do is deliver hope, fuel the fight, and save lives, but why we do it is even more important: "We answer the call of others... so they may prevail." It's our enduring ethos that connects Mobility Airmen past, present and future.
