Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton traveled to Lima, Peru, on October 15 and 16. In Peru, she met with Peruvian President Ollanta Humala to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation. After her meeting with the President, Secretary Clinton said:

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will travel to Lima, Peru, on October 15 and 16. In Peru, she will meet with Peruvian President Ollanta Humala to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation. She will also participate in an international conference on women’s financial inclusion — Power: Women as Drivers of Growth and Social Inclusion — at which she will deliver remarks to the plenary.

Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Melanne Verveer will accompany the Secretary on the visit.

In Beijing September 4-5, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton met with senior Chinese leaders. During remarks with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Secretary Clinton said:

On August 11, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton continued her travel from Africa to Istanbul, Turkey, where she met with senior government officials to coordinate on Syria. Secretary Clinton held detailed conversations with the senior Turkish leadership, including Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, and a number of other key officials in the Turkish government. Following her visit to Ghana on August 10, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton traveled to Benin. In Cotonou, Secretary Clinton met with Beninese President Boni Yayi. The Secretary and President discussed the U.S.-Benin relationship, as well as issues related to the African continent. President Yayi serves as the current president of the African Union.
