Rough Riders Equestrian Fun Run/Poker Run Event Scheduled: An Equestrian Fun Run/Poker Run is scheduled for Rough Riders on October 20, 2012. The event will host approximately 100 club members in a roughly 12-mile ride. The event, a casual ride, is a non-speed, non-timed event. The course will be on designated routes within the Wilson Creek Subregion Travel Management Area. There will be five stops/checkpoints along the route, in which riders will collect a card or chip for their poker hand. The five checkpoints are located at the intersections of trails and roads, enabling ATVs and full-size vehicles to access these locations. Vehicle use will be limited to roads within the Wilson Creek area; cross country travel is prohibited.
Season’s Final SIDRA Desert Motorcycle Race Scheduled for Southwestern Idaho: The third and final Southwestern Idaho Desert Racing Association (SIDRA) motorcycle race for the season is scheduled for Bar to Bar near Murphy, Idaho on November 4, 2012. The event will host approximately 75 riders in a 50-mile race. The approved course is on designated routes within the Murphy Subregion Travel Management Area. It will take place within the designated competitive use area, as identified by the Owyhee Resource Management Plan. The Murphy Subregion Travel Management Plan allows for up to six motorcycle races per year within the competitive use area.
