Jane Addams Hull-House Museum

The Jane Addams Hull-House Museum today

Chicago, Illinois

Jane Addams Hull-House Museum is a dynamic memorial to Nobel Peace Prize-winning social reformer Jane Addams (1860-1935) and the Settlement House Movement. Founded in 1889, Hull-House influenced public policy on issues including public health, education, housing, labor practices, immigrants’ rights, urban planning, and free speech. Today, Jane Addams Hull-House Association continues as one of Chicago’s oldest and largest social and human service agencies. Save America’s Treasures grants helped preserve 5,000 photographs and 32 yearbooks documenting the work of Hull-House, and will be used to repair roofs on several buildings.
