Peer Review Action: November 2, 2006 As part of our status review the Service is conducting a peer review of the following document: Hirsch, C.L., S. E. Albeke, and T. P. Nesler. 2006. Range-wide status of Colorado River cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarki pleuriticus): 2005. Colorado River cutthroat trout Conservation Team Report. Colorado Division of Wildlife, Fort Collins. It is an assessment of Colorado River cutthroat trout throughout their entire range including an analysis of historic range, current distribution, genetic status, population size and general population health.
The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service has concluded that a petition to list the Colorado River cutthroat trout as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act does not provide substantial information to indicate that a listing may be warranted at this time. This finding was published in the Federal Register on April 20, 2004.
