Notices of administrative, civil and criminal forfeiture actions have
traditionally been published in newspapers. Publication of forfeiture notices
are now permitted on a government internet site under 28 CFR Part 8.9, Rule G of
the Supplemental Rules for Admiralty or Maritime Claims and Asset Forfeiture
Actions (part of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure), and/or Rule 32.2(b)(6)
of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure.
This website is managed by the Department of Justice, Asset Forfeiture
Management Staff and contains a comprehensive list of pending forfeiture notices
for all of the federal agencies shown below.
Please note that Title 18, United States Code, Section 983(h)(1), permits
a court to impose a civil fine on anyone asserting an interest in property which
the court determines was frivolous.
