WILLIAM T. NEARY IS REAPPOINTED AS

U.S. TRUSTEE FOR NORTHERN AND EASTERN TEXAS


            WASHINGTON, D.C.–William T. Neary has been reappointed by the Attorney General as United States Trustee for northern and eastern Texas (Region 6), the Director of the Executive Office for United States Trustees announced today.

            “Mr. Neary’s integrity and abilities as a lawyer and manager are known throughout the Program and the bankruptcy community,” Director Cliff White stated. “He has been a key advisor on national policy and procedures, and has willingly accepted special assignments on numerous occasions, serving as interim U.S. Trustee in four other regions when temporary vacancies occurred.”

            Mr. Neary has served as the U.S. Trustee for Region 6 since 1986. He currently also serves as interim U.S. Trustee for Northern Illinois and Wisconsin (Region 11). Mr. Neary received his law degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

            The U.S. Trustee Program is the component of the Justice Department that protects the integrity of the bankruptcy system by overseeing case administration and litigating to enforce the bankruptcy laws. The Program has 21 regions and 95 field offices. Region 6 is headquartered in Dallas with an additional office in Tyler, Texas.
