The Tiger Stamp Turns One Year Old

A year ago on September 20th, the Save Vanishing Species semipostal stamp was created to raise public awareness and garner support for global conservation efforts. By the end of September 2012, 15.7 million stamps had been sold, raising more than $1.6 million for conservation.

Guilty Pleas Announced in Rhino Horn Trafficking Probe

Four individuals arrested last February in Operation Crash and a company charged in the case for unlawful trafficking in rhino horn have pleaded guilty to Federal felony charges. Crimes acknowledged by the defendants include conspiracy, money laundering, tax fraud, and interstate and international wildlife trafficking. Read the news release.

Three Antelope Rule

 In January 2012, the Service published a final rule on January 5, 2012 to eliminate the regulation that authorized certain otherwise prohibited activities under the ESA with U.S. captive-bred animals and sport-hunted trophies of three endangered African antelope species.
