October 2, 2012
Service Deputy Director Rowan Gould and several Assistant Directors met with six Chinese fishery specialists visiting the U.S. to learn about federal hatcheries, technical facilities and fishery program offices in Regions 4 and 5. Their ten-day stay was part of an ongoing series of bilateral activities under the U.S.-China Nature Conservation Protocol, signed 26 years ago to promote exchanges of information and personnel to enhance the conservation and management of wildlife and habitat in both countries. Their itinerary focused on fish nutrition, health, genetic studies and fish passage technology.
