Funding Opportunities for Work Force Health Promotion

Limited funding is often one of the biggest challenges facing new and existing workforce health promotion (WHP) programs. Funding for your program may be available through various government, research, and philanthropic organizations. Federal agencies can also consult Employee Health Programs, developed by the Office of Personnel Management for information on operating and funding WHP programs at federal agencies.

This page lists current and potential funding opportunities specifically related to workforce health promotion. If you think we've missed an important funding resource, then let us know!

Current WHP Funding Opportunities

Three common funding avenues to support WHP research activities are program announcements (PAs, PARs), requests for applications (RFAs), and requests for proposals (RFPs). Grant announcements often come in the form of PAs or RFAs, while contract announcements are often made as an RFP. Grant Writing Tip Sheets and The Foundation Center are two resources to help you write successful funding applications.

Listed below are current WHP-related funding opportunities. Questions about these specific funding opportunities should be directed to the organization contacts listed in the announcement links.
