Weed and seed
Weed and Seed is a community-based strategy sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) that aims to restore stability and prosperity to a community that has been affected by crime.
Weed and Seed is a two-pronged strategy. On one side law enforcement and prosecutors work to "weed out" dangerous criminals and drugs, while public agencies and private organizations within the community come together to plant, or "seed" essential human services such as prevention, intervention, treatment and neighborhood restoration programs.
