Mark Fredrick Green was sworn in October 14, 2010, and immediately assumed the duties of the 28th United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.  Green was nominated by President Obama on July 14, 2010 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 29, 2010.  He leads the office of 12 Assistant U.S. Attorneys and 17 support staff.

Green, 56, returns to the office where he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 1978 to 1982.  Since 1983, Green has practiced law in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.  From 1983 to 1991, Green was a partner in the law firm of Green and Green with former U.S. Attorney Robert "Bruce" Green.  Since 1991, Mark Green has been a sole practitioner handling a wide array of civil and criminal matters.

Mark Green has extensive ties to the District and a long history of service to the community.  He has served as the Muskogee City Councilor, Cherokee Nation Environment Protection Commissioner, Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commissioner, City of Muskogee Housing Authority Board Member, Alternate Muskogee City Judge and Bureau of Indian Affairs Tribal Prosecutor.

Green graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors degree in Finance in 1975 and a Juris Doctorate in 1978.
