The 113th Wings Civil Engineer squadron gets hands on training while at silver flag on Ramstein A.B. Germany. The valuable contingency training teaches teamwork while preparing airman for future deployments. Airmen are motivated for the training and gain from the diversity offered by the air force, guard and reserve from around the world. ​​​Capital Guardians Put Marksmanship Skills to the Test

District of Columbia State Marksmanship Competition participants, cadre and support staff.

FORT A.P. HILL, Va. – District of Columbia National Guard Soldiers spent three days testing their marksmanship skills here Feb. 26-28 to pick top marksmen to represent the state in national competitions.

According to Sgt. 1st Class Robert Bandy, State Marksmanship Coordinator, the D.C. National Guard competitive marksmanship program continues to grow.

“We have a great group of Soldiers here over the past few days,” he said. “I am encouraged by what I saw in terms of the skills and willingness to help one another.” (read more)

District of Columbia National Guard Hosts First Responder Knowledge, Insight Forum​ ​

WASHINGTON, DC (Feb. 25, 2016) -- More than 40 military and civilian leaders gathered at the District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG) Joint Task Force Headquarters to discuss emergency response efforts, praise the work of military personnel and witness the latest in first responder technology here.

The event came at the close of Sovereign Guardian 2016 (SG16), a five-day exercise held in The District, hosted by the DCNG, to gauge the readiness of federal and local first responder efforts in the event of a crisis, Feb. 22-26.

“The exercise was to test our ability to respond in a multi-dimensional environment,” Army Maj. Gen. Errol R. Schwartz, commanding general of the DCNG, told meeting attendees. (read more)
