BEAVER, W. Va. -- Federal disaster assistance funding has reached $12.6 million to help homeowners, renters, business owners, and government agencies in West Virginia recover from the June 2010 flooding.
BEAVER, W. Va. -- Officials working on the June storm recovery in West Virginia remind residents with storm-related losses to register for disaster assistance by Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 and to stay in touch through toll-free phone lines. Specialists with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are available every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to help applicants register and keep up with the progress on their requests for help. The phone number is 800-621-FEMA (3362).

Emergency Work (Categories A-B): Work that must be performed to reduce or eliminate an immediate threat to life, protect public health and safety, and to protect improved property that is significantly threatened due to disasters or emergencies declared by the President
Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards

*Dollars Obligated: Funds made available to the State via electronic transfer following FEMA's final review and approval of Public Assistance projects.
