Army Changes Preferred Site for Museum

The Army announced today that its new preferred site for the proposed National Museum of the U.S. Army (NMUSA) is adjacent to the intersection of Fort Belvoir's Kingman Road with the Fairfax County Parkway on Ft. Belvoir's north post. The Army had been considering a site on the Engineer Proving Grounds for the location of the museum.

Troops who pick up 550-unit cards at any of the 53 BX/PXs or 32 Imprest Fund activities in Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom will see per minute charges reduced by 13 percent when placing calls from AAFES phone centers from Nov. 22 to Dec. 25.

Construction of a $269,000 primary school that will educate approximately 300 children began in a newly developed area of Kirkuk, Iraq. Working through the Provincial Reconstruction Development Council and the local maneuver unit, the 25th Infantry Division, the Governorate of Kirkuk requested the construction of a permanent facility to replace the tent school in Zakros.
