The qualifying race will be held at Donovan Track in the Georgia National Guard Training Area, June 4. The 27th Annual Army Ten-Miler will be held 8 a.m., Oct. 9 at The Pentagon.

Hubert Hensen, a medic with Winn ACH were awarded the Soldier's Medal for their role in defusing the hostage situation at the hospital last September. Major General Robert Abrams, Third Infantry Division commanding general, alongside Command Sgt. Maj. Edd Watson, 3rd ID command sergeant major, presented the medals to the Soldiers.

There were boxes everywhere, opened and rummaged through as the Family slowly moved in. The master bedroom was covered in everyone's clothes. As the final photos were hung on the wall earlier that day, the mess had begun to feel like a home for the Ortiz Family.

But, behind a mahogany desk sits a man enclosed by four walls that bear a visual recording of his journey in the Army. His office is adorned with coins, plaques, photographs and other memorabilia dating back to deployments to Grenada, Panama and Iraq, to name a few. These plaques describe a life committed to the service of his country and to the Soldiers he loves. He arrives everyday at 5 a.m. so he can get a jump on the day prior to his 6:30 a.m. physical training.
