    Beta testing started September 28, 2012
    The U.S. Energy Information Administration is committed to making its data available through an Application Programming Interface (API) to better serve our customers. An API allows computers to more easily access our public data. By making EIA data available in this machine-readable format, the creativity in the private, the non-profit, and the public sectors can be harnessed to find new ways to innovate and create value-added services powered by public data.

  • Interactive Electricity Data Browser ›

    Beta tested March 30 - June 1, 2012
    Uses advanced interactive programming techniques to combine the data from the Electricla Power Monthly, the Electric Power Annual, and electicity generation plant level data into a single page. The user can select canned reports or generate their own. Time series are always provided with interactive charting. Drill down views are provided for agragate number where availble.

    We've expanded the EPM to include standard web pages, in addition to the downloadable Excel files. The HTML pages support interactive charting. Please see "1.1 Energy Source: Total - All Sectors" for a good example.

    Our Petroleum data series pages now offer custom, interactive charting. The series history pages also provide interactive charts with advanced charting tools.

    The Natural Gas data pages also permits allows users to select and graph from the available data series. Interactive graphing with advanced charting options are also available on the series history pages.
