Lassen NF OHV Grants Proposals Available for Review and Comment

Each year, the Lassen National Forest has an opportunity to submit grant applications to the California State Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division (OHMVR) for consideration for funding in support of the Forest’s on-going Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) program. The Division is currently soliciting proposals for the 2012 grant cycle, and the Lassen National Forest is considering one project for submission.  Preliminary applications for the 2012 projects have been made available for review and comment on the OHMVR Division's website, http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/.

Updated 2011 Motor Vehicle Use Maps Now Available

On June 30, 2010, the Lassen National Forest released its first annual Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM). This map culminated nearly six years of planning and defined our baseline system of public roads and motorized trails. Cross country travel by wheeled motorized vehicles off this transportation system is now permanently prohibited except by special use permit.  As this system evolves in coming years we intend to better accommodate various forms of motorized vehicle uses while protecting resources and improving management of a broad range of visitor activities. Please visit our Motorized Travel Management pages for more information.
