Biography: D.J. Monroe is all about speed. He is one of the fastest football players in the state of Texas, but also has great instincts. He is very physical for his size, and can play in any type of coverage. His tremendous speed also makes him a threat returning kicks.
Statistics/Personal: Monroe earned All-District honors as a Sophomore and a Junior, including co-MVP honors in 2006. He was also the 4A state 100-meters champion with a time of 10.45 seconds as a Sophomore.
Tom Lemming Report: DJ has been blessed with terrific instincts and has proven to be one of the best pass defenders in the southwest. Tough and pretty physical for a little guy, he excels in all types of coverage. He plays bigger than his size would indicate, has a vertical and shows very good anticipation and timing.
