    Members of the Third Army/U.S. Army Central (Third Army) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team and the DoD Humanitarian Demining Research and Development Program partnered with members of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) Sept. 20 through 24 for an EOD seminar in Beirut, Lebanon. More than 40 Soldiers, NCOs and officers attended the information exchange on EOD and demining operations and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) operations.

Soto, who served as a researcher on the film about the Puerto Rican 65th Infantry Regiment, spoke about the contributions this Puerto Rican unit, which can trace its lineage back to 1899, made to the American military.

The culprit, a disgruntled and recently redeployed Soldier, nonchalantly left the scene and was joined by another Soldier on the other side of post, where the two went on a shooting rampage and took several hostages.

    FORT RILEY, Kan. - Plastics, glass, cans and paper are just some of the things that can be recycled at the Fort Riley Recycling Center, located in Building 1980 at Camp Funston. "Recycling is essential to save valuable landfill space," said Scott Allen, operations supervisor of the recycle program. "If we refused to recycle, these products would end up in our landfills and reduce the life expectancy of those landfills."

    PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. - Pfc. James Stanly, 27, a New Jersey National Guardsman based in Jersey City returned from a tour in Iraq in 2009 and found that his current home, a trailer not far from the Canadian border, was rotting from rain seeping through the roof and causing moldy-unlivable conditions that threatened his health. Through a series of local connections, Stanly was able to receive a new home allowing him to reunite with his daughter.

The unit loaded and shipped the milvan more than three months ago but when the milvan arrived, it was cleaned out - everything stolen. Since then, the people of the Fort Bragg and Charlotte communities have readily been resupplying Soldiers with many needed items.
