CGH Deputy Director for Management and Oversease Operations:
Jenny Parker
Jenny Parker, M.P.A., is the Deputy Director for Management and Overseas Operations of CGH. In this capacity, she leads and coordinates all management and operational issues for the Center. Ms. Parker served as the Chief of the Country Operations Branch, Division of Global HIV/AIDS (DGHA) from 2006 to 2011 providing leadership for 45 Atlanta-based staff and providing operational support for the over 40 CDC field offices implementing the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.
Ms. Parker received her B.A. from Agnes Scott College and her M.P.A. from Georgia College and State University.
She joined CDC in 1993 as a Presidential Management Intern. She has held a variety of programmatic and policy
positions within CDC including Associate Director for Policy and Communications, DGHA; CDC Liaison to HHS
for Steps to a Healthier U.S., National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP);
and, Associate Director for Planning, Evaluation and Legislation, Division of Adolescent and School Health, NCCDPHP. Prior to her
coming to CDC, Ms. Parker worked 13 years as a caseworker with the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services helping
foster children and investigating reports of child abuse and neglect.
