NPLCC Traditional Ecological Knowledge FY 12 Projects
The North Pacific Landscape Conservation Cooperative (NPLCC) is pleased to announce the award of over $300,000 to seven projects that address using Traditional Ecological Knowledge, where appropriate, to help inform natural and cultural resource management. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service provided funds to the NPLCC for these projects. Two of the projects are co-sponsored by the Northwest Climate Science Center (NW CSC).

Third Charter Steering Committee Meeting Held
The third North Pacific Landscape Conservation Cooperative (NPLCC) Charter Steering Committee meeting was held December 14-15, 2011 in Union, Washington. At this meeting, the NPLCC charter was adopted. It contains the LCC's mission, goals, structure and operating procedures.

Climate Change Effects on Freshwater and Marine and Coastal Ecosystems in the North Pacific LCC
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service commissioned two reports that compile literature and synthesize information about climate change effects and adaptation approaches for freshwater and for marine and coastal ecosystems in the entire range of the North Pacific LCC. Prepared by National Wildlife Federation, these reports include the latest science and information with over 400 resources reviewed and over 100 people interviewed. The draft final reports were reviewed by 63 reviewers and will be finalized later this summer.
