Our new online course, Aeronautical Decision Making . . . for VFR Pilots, shows that Aeronautical Decision Making involves several disciplines, including Risk Management. The course includes discussions of Crew Resource Management, Attitude Management, Judgment, Situational Awareness, Skills and Procedures, Stress Management, and Risk Management. It discusses a systematic approach to risk assessment and stress management in aviation; it also illustrates how personal attitudes can influence decision-making and how those attitudes can be modified to enhance safety of flight.

The FAASafety.gov on-line course, Aeronautical Decision Making . . . for VFR Pilots, presents such training, including a framework for developing situational awareness, evaluating options using risk management tools, and making safe decisions. It includes several scenario-based questions to test your knowledge of this vital subject.
