International Influenza
In general, influenza activity worldwide is within expected levels for this time of year. Activity is increasing in the temperate Southern Hemisphere: Chile, Paraguay, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand have all reported steady increases in recent weeks. Some countries in the tropical regions have reported increased influenza activity recently, including Bolivia and Ghana. In temperate Northern Hemisphere countries, the influenza season is over and activity is generally low. For the latest updates on the international influenza situation, visit CDC’s Global Flu Activity Update. For a summary of influenza activity in the United States, see FluView.
