Russia
About
With a 20-year history of working in Russia, USAID continues to work with a wide range of organizations--including government, the private sector and non-profits--for a more open and innovative society and a strengthened partnership between Russia and the United States.
Since 1992, USAID has provided more than $2.6 billion toward Russia’s social and economic development. Today, in full support of U.S. presidential policy, USAID works with Russia as a partner to solve development challenges both within Russia and in third countries. Local Russian organizations implement over half of USAID's activities in the country in the areas of health, civil society, rule of law, local governance and conflict mitigation.
USAID is also committed to mobilizing information and communication technology throughout all projects to maximize impact and ensure sustainability.
