Courts Praise GSA for Chamber Renovation in Delaware

Judge Jordan's newly renovated chambers in the J. Caleb Boggs Federal Building in Wilmington, DE.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit requested GSA’s assistance with a chamber renovation project for the Honorable Kent A. Jordan, Circuit Judge.  Prior to this project, Judge Jordan was housed in chambers on the 6th floor of the J. Caleb Boggs Federal Building in Wilmington, DE.  The project involved renovating existing, but vacant, chambers on the 5th floor of the building and required refinishing millwork, installing new carpet, painting, upgrading lighting, expanding the new chambers into the adjacent library, and finally, moving Judge Jordan to his new chambers.

Judge Jordan wrote to Mid-Atlantic PBS Commissioner Rob Hewell and North Service Center Director Tom Lyman to express his gratitude for the GSA employees whose excellent work made the relocation of his chambers at the Boggs Federal Building possible.

“Martha Culbreath [Mechanical Engineer], Brenda Haywood [Contract Specialist], Melanie Kunkle [Supervisory Construction Control Representative], Paul Slifer [Building Management Specialist], Bill Ott [Construction Control Representative] and Bob Waring [Project Manager] were thorough, conscientious, and careful in making sure that the many tasks necessary in refurbishing the new chambers space were taken care of and handled well,” wrote Judge Jordan of the GSA employees.  “The new space was everything we had hoped for.”

Tom Lyman also took the time to share that, as a manager, he finds it gratifying to receive letters that reflect such a positive customer experience.  Lyman, along with Delaware Valley Field Office Manager Tom McGarry, recently toured the space and concurred that both the project and the new chambers are a reflection of a job well done.
