Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course - WOSSCThe Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course (WOSSC) is a resident 4-week, MOS-immaterial, professional military education course preceded by a DL phase. Phase 1 (DL) must be completed prior to attending the resident Phase 2. This course is only taught at the U.S. Army Warrant Officer Career College (WOCC). Purpose: The WOSSC provides senior CW4s and new CW5s with the senior level education, knowledge, and influential leadership skills necessary to apply their technical expertise in support of leaders on strategic level joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational (JIIM) organizations executing Unified Land Operations thru Decisive Action. Registration: Obtain a reservation for the course through your training section and/or branch manager. WOCC is not able to reserve student seats in ATRRS.
AKO Account: You must have an AKO account that is not linked to another email account and can be accessed by AKO user name and password, NOT CAC. All correspondence will be conducted via official AKO email, please ensure that it is functional and that you have daily access. Phase 1 (DL): Phase 1 is the nonresident distributed learning (DL) phase. It is a 48-hour course taught asynchronously in the Blackboard learning content management system (web-based) over a 60 day period, designed to prepare students for the resident phase. It is NOT self-paced! Phase 1 (DL) asynchronous education consists of assigned professional readings, submission of two written papers, and participation in student to student, and student to instructor discussions. After receiving an ATRRS notification for Phase 2 course 1-250-C9, contact the WOSSC DL manager or Course Director at (334) 255-3387/3697 for enrollment into a specific DL Group. Each DL Group is guided through modules following a schedule that supports student and instructor interaction. Extensions to complete each learning module may be granted on a case by case basis depending upon unique circumstances. Reserved Phase 2 seats for those who did not complete DL on time will be reallocated to the next individual on the wait list who has completed the DL.
(1) Officers with APFT restrictions based upon an approved permanent designator in their physical profile must have an approved DA Form 3349, Physical Profile. Signatures of the profiling officer(s) and approving authority on the DA Form 3349 must be verifiable. Officers with invalid DA Forms 3349 will be returned to their unit. (2) Officers with temporary profiles based upon injuries sustained due operational deployment may be permitted by their immediate commander to attend PME within the guidelines of their profile. They must arrive with a copy of their current approved profile and a memorandum signed by their commander stating the profile is a result of injuries sustained due to operational deployment. Soldiers with temporary profiles that are not a result of operational deployment that prevent full participation in a course will be removed from school attendance consideration (Para 3-13b, AR 350-1).
