This online map is designed to help you locate and learn about commemorative works in Washington, DC. You can display memorials by theme, and view the name and a brief description of each memorial by clicking an icon on the map. Click the "learn more" link to see the full history and significance of each memorial, as well as view photos and tips contributed by the public.
The map is also linked with the location-based social networking site, Foursquare, so you can "check-in" to a location, add photos and tips, and compete against your friends to become the "mayor" of your favorite monuments and statues.
