The West Point Band is pleased to announce our 20th annual Young Artist Solo Competition, open to students in grades 10-12 
residing within a 75-mile radius of West Point, NY. Piano, woodwind, brass and percussion applicants are invited to compete for the opportunity to be a featured soloist with the West Point Band. Please contact Sgt. 1st Class Mike Reifenberg to inquire about eligibility.
Selected applicants will be invited to the final round of the competition held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 (snow date: January 26) in Egner Hall on the campus of the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. Finalists will perform up to 10 minutes of a concerto or concert piece for a panel comprised of members of the West Point Band. The winner or winners of the competition will be featured soloists with the West Point Band on our annual Young Artist Concert scheduled for Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 3:00 p.m., in West Point’s Eisenhower Hall Ballroom.
Candidates should choose their repertoire from the list of currently available solo works with band accompaniment. We strongly encourage the use of an accompanist for the audition.
