Into the frontier: close-quarters combat
Amid the loud pops and dissonant sounds of paint erupting against wood, Security Forces Airmen from F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., tested their close-quarters-combat skills against an opposing force team during Road Warrior X at Camp Guernsey, Wyo., Oct. 18.

Altus airman’s relentless drive earns him selection for OTS
He works eight hours, comes home and spends time with his family. Then it is time for school. After doing school work until 2 a.m. he gets just a few hours of sleep before he has to get up again for work at 5 a.m. This is only a glimpse of the dedication Staff Sgt. Nicholas Carver, 97th Medical Support Squadron NCO in charge of central appointments and patient travel, showed during his pursuit of a Bachelors Degree and his dream of one day attending Officer Training School.

Deployed airmen return home to Sioux City
Thirteen Security Forces members of the Iowa National Guard’s 185th Air Refueling Wing located in Sioux City, Iowa returned home today from a six month deployment to Southwest Asia. During their deployment the Sioux City airmen joined guard members from Des Moines, Iowa’s 132nd Fighter Wing and guardsmen from South Dakota, Alaska and Oklahoma. During the deployment all the airmen from were directly responsible for base defense.
